Product description
Candour PETG-CF 1kg – carbon-filled PETG for strong and durable parts
Candour PETG-CF is a PETG-based composite filament reinforced with carbon fibers. Both the material and the color shades are identical to Bambu Lab PETG-CF filament, as they come from the same manufacturer. Thanks to the addition of carbon fibers, the filament gains high stiffness, strength, and a pleasant carbon appearance, ideal for functional and mechanically stressed parts.
Unlike original Bambu Lab spools:
- Candour spools do not have an NFC tag – the printer will not recognize them automatically
- The spools have a different construction and cannot be used as a refill for reusable Bambu Lab spools
For a visual representation of the material, photos of Bambu Lab PETG-CF filaments with the same color name can be used when presenting the product.
Key Features
- Identical composition to Bambu Lab PETG-CF – same material, shades, and mechanical properties
- Reinforced with carbon fibers – higher stiffness and strength compared to regular PETG
- Excellent dimensional stability – less warping, suitable even for larger parts
- Lower stringing and „clumping“ than standard PETG
- Outdoor resistance – better resistance to moisture, heat, oils, and UV radiation
- Carbon surface with fine texture – the surface masks layers better while being glossier than PLA-CF
- Suitable for functional and stressed parts – brackets, fixtures, covers, mechanical components
- Optimized for higher printing speeds (recommended up to approx. 200 mm/s)
Carbon fibers are abrasive – for Candour PETG-CF, it is necessary to use a hardened steel nozzle (or other resistant material). A 0.2mm nozzle is not recommended.
Recommended Use
Candour PETG-CF is ideal for:
- Load-bearing and functional parts (brackets, mounts, fixtures, mechanical components)
- Outdoor use – garden accessories, electronics covers, housings
- Technical prototypes requiring a combination of strength and toughness
- Parts exposed to vibrations and impacts – bike mounts, tool parts, automotive accessories
Thanks to the carbon texture, the material is also suitable where a representative appearance is important alongside functionality.
Printing Recommendations
Basic recommended parameters are based on the Bambu Lab PETG-CF specification:
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 240–270 °C (start around 250–260 °C)
- Bed temperature: approx. 65–75 °C
- Chamber temperature: ideally 35–50 °C (a closed printer helps layer strength)
- Printing speed: up to approx. 200 mm/s (less for detailed parts)
- Fan: low to medium (0–60 % depending on geometry)
- Nozzle: hardened steel 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm (0.6 mm reduces the risk of clogging)
Drying and Storage
PETG-CF is sensitive to moisture and for the best result, it is advisable to:
- dry the filament before printing (e.g., 65 °C / 8 hours in a dryer or oven with an accurate thermostat)
- store in a dry place (sealable boxes with desiccant)
Symptoms of moist material include increased stringing, bubbles in the print, and a rough surface.
Compatibility and Spools
- Bambu Lab PETG-CF material profiles can be used as the starting profile for Candour PETG-CF, with potential flow fine-tuning.
- Candour spools do not have an NFC chip – on Bambu Lab printers, the material must be selected manually.
- The construction of Candour spools is different from the Bambu Lab reusable spool, so it cannot be used as a refill for original Bambu spools.

Summary
Candour PETG-CF is the ideal choice for users who want the quality and properties of Bambu Lab PETG-CF combined with a better price/performance ratio. It offers high stiffness, strength, and outdoor resistance, significantly better mechanical properties than regular PETG, and an attractive carbon surface. Due to the different spools without NFC, the material must be set in the printer manually, but the reward is very reliable and durable prints.
