Product description
Bambu Lab TPU 85A Neon Orange 1 kg
Bambu Lab TPU 85A is the softest TPU in the Bambu Lab portfolio, designed for applications where extreme flexibility, high shock absorption, and excellent abrasion resistance are required. In this variant in a bright neon orange color, it is ideal for both functional mechanical parts and distinctive design elements and protective components.
Key Features
- Hardness Shore 85A – very soft, rubbery character, easily bends and compresses without cracking.
- High flexibility and shape recovery – suitable for damping, impact-resistant, and vibration-isolating parts.
- Excellent abrasion resistance – suitable for frequently stressed parts (soles, grips, covers).
- Neon orange color – perfect for highly visible components, safety and sports equipment, aesthetic parts.
- Material optimized for Bambu Lab – stable diameter, high-quality winding, proven print profiles for Bambu Lab printers (with direct drive).
- 1 kg spool with reusable system – solid plastic Bambu Lab spool compatible with their spool system.
Recommended Use
Bambu Lab TPU 85A Neon Orange is ideal for:
- Protectors and damping elements – bumpers, stops, silentblocks, camera mounts, battery holders.
- Grips and handles – sports equipment, tools, controllers, ergonomic grips.
- Covers and cases – protective covers for electronics, phones, sensors, sports devices.
- Seals and bellows – sealing rings, grommets, dust covers, flexible couplings.
- Footwear and wearables – parts of soles, insoles, damping segments, straps.
Printing Recommendations
For the best results, Bambu Lab recommends for TPU 85A:
- Pre-printing drying: approximately 70 °C for 8 hours (TPU is highly hygroscopic).
- Low humidity during storage and printing: ideally < 20 % relative humidity (use sealable boxes / filament dryers).
- 0.6–0.8 mm nozzle made of hardened or stainless steel – soft material feeds better with a larger nozzle diameter.
- Nozzle temperature approx. 200–250 °C depending on printer and speed.
- Bed temperature 30–35 °C, possibly with the use of a suitable adhesive.
- Slower print speeds – although the manufacturer states the possibility of higher speeds (recommended < 200 mm/s), for very soft TPU it is often advantageous to start slower and gradually increase speed.
- Direct drive filament feeding – minimizes the risk of filament squeezing and tangling in the bowden.
- Do not use AMS / AMS Lite – this specific TPU 85A is not compatible with the automatic feeder.
Compatibility
- Designed primarily for FDM 3D printers Bambu Lab with direct extruder (e.g., P1, X1, H2D, etc.).
- Can also be used on other FDM printers with a direct drive extruder and quality filament guidance.
- Not recommended for printers with long bowden tubes or for AMS systems due to very low hardness.

Advantages for Your Workshop
- Allows you to print very soft, rubbery parts that standard PLA or PETG can never replace.
- Thanks to the bright neon orange color, parts are excellently visible (safety, sports, industrial marking).
- Stable quality and parameters from Bambu Lab facilitate setup and print repeatability.
If you are looking for an extremely flexible TPU filament for printing functional and design parts in a striking orange color, Bambu Lab TPU 85A Neon Orange is the ideal choice.
Key Features:
- Extremely soft and flexible TPU filament with Shore 85A hardness for maximum shock absorption and bending without cracking.
- Neon orange color for highly visible, design, and safety parts.
- High resistance to abrasion and repeated bending – suitable for grips, protectors, heels, and flexible joints.
- Optimized for Bambu Lab printers with direct drive, stable diameter, and high-quality spool winding.
- Supplied on a 1 kg spool with the Bambu Lab reusable system.
- Does not require a heated chamber; a slightly heated bed and dried filament are sufficient.
