Bambu Lab TPU 85A Black 1kg

Bambu Lab TPU 85A is the softest TPU filament in the Bambu Lab portfolio and is designed for printing parts that must be very flexible, durable, and dimensionally stable at the same time. The Black variant is a versatile choice for functional and design applications where a combination of high flexibility, vibration damping, and long service life is needed.

Main features

  • Shore hardness 85A – very soft and highly flexible TPU, suitable for parts that must bend, compress, and absorb shocks.
  • Excellent abrasion resistance – ideal for mechanically stressed functional parts that come into contact with friction.
  • Excellent flexibility and return to original shape – parts return to their original shape after deformation, suitable for shock absorbers, seals, and protective elements.
  • Good layer adhesion – ensures high strength even for thin-walled, flexible models.
  • Original Bambu Lab material – consistent quality, verified printing parameters, and compatibility with Bambu Lab printers (especially P1, X1, H2D; for A1/A1 mini, TPU 90A is rather recommended).
  • Wound on a durable ABS spool – dimensionally stable spool with heat resistance of approx. 90 °C, suitable for longer printing tasks.

Recommended Use

Printing Recommendations

To achieve the best results, we recommend:

  • Dry filament – TPU is highly hygroscopic, dry it before printing according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Reduced printing speed compared to PLA/PETG to prevent under-extrusion and unstable flow.
  • Direct feed (direct drive) or the smoothest possible filament path to minimize resistance during feeding.
  • Use original or verified Bambu Lab TPU 85A print profiles and subsequently fine-tune speed, flow, and retractions according to the specific printer.

Warning: This filament is not compatible with AMS / AMS Lite and is generally more demanding to set up than harder TPU (e.g., 90A, 95A). It is more suitable for experienced users or for printing on machines where TPU 85A can be officially recommended.
