Bambu Lab PLA Translucent Blue is a special line of PLA filament with a translucent, matte misty surface. It diffuses light similarly to sandblasted or frosted glass, making it ideal for lamps, lighting fixtures, vases, LED strip covers, design decorations, and aesthetic prototypes.

• use a lower layer height (e.g., 0.12–0.2 mm)
• set consistent cooling and slightly reduce speed for detailed parts

Compatibility

• Fully compatible with Bambu Lab printers and the AMS system, which automatically loads the correct profile thanks to the RFID chip in the spool.
• Can also be used on other FDM printers with a filament diameter of 1.75 mm – simply manually enter the appropriate temperatures and PLA profile.

Ecology and processing

PLA is based on polylactic acid, partly from renewable resources (e.g., corn, sugarcane). It offers:

• good surface appearance without significant stringing when retractions are correctly set

Tip: For the most beautiful matte-translucent effect, try different wall thicknesses and infill densities – this changes the level of translucency and the character of light diffusion.
