Product description
Bambu Lab PLA Silk Dual Color Velvet Eclipse (Black-Red) is an aesthetic PLA Silk filament with a dual-color composition, where black and red run in parallel within a single strand. The result is exceptionally attractive prints with a silky gloss and dynamic color transitions that change depending on the viewing angle and print orientation.
This filament is designed for easy printing on Bambu Lab printers (including AMS and AMS Lite) as well as on standard FDM printers with a filament diameter of 1,75 mm. It is especially suitable for decorative models, statues, vases, design elements, cosplay accessories, and gift items, where surface appearance is the priority.
The Velvet Eclipse (Black-Red) variant corresponds to the combination black / red (Black, Red).
Key features
- Dual-color Silk effect (Black-Red) – two colors in one strand, prints black and red side by side simultaneously.
- Silky glossy surface – ideal for representative and aesthetic prints.
- Dynamic appearance change – the colors visually change when the model is rotated, creating a pronounced 3D effect.
- Full compatibility with Bambu Lab AMS / AMS Lite – RFID chip with stored parameters for “load & print” use.
- Easy to print like PLA – low warping, good layer adhesion, also suitable for advanced beginners.
- Reusable plastic Bambu Lab spool – more environmentally friendly and practical for storage.
- High gloss with adjustable level – gloss can be influenced by nozzle temperature and print speed.
Recommended applications
- Decorative and gift items
- Figures, busts, gaming and collector models
- Artistic and design projects
- Display models (logos, signs, trophies, awards)
- Vase and artistic prints with emphasis on surface appearance
Note: PLA Silk is generally not recommended for functional mechanical parts exposed to elevated temperatures – it is primarily an aesthetic material.

Tips for printing and storage
- Drying: before printing, it is recommended to dry the filament (e.g. 55 °C for 8 hours), especially if it has been open for a longer time.
- Storage: store in a resealable bag or box with desiccant, ideally in an AMS with low humidity.
- Speed and retraction: for Silk filaments, slightly lower speeds and reasonable retraction values are recommended to minimize the risk of clogging.
- Outer walls slower: for a smooth, glossy surface, print the outer walls more slowly than the rest of the model.
Safety and use
- Print in a well-ventilated area.
- This material is not intended for food contact.
- Do not expose finished prints to elevated long-term temperatures (e.g. in a car behind a window in direct sunlight), as deformation may occur.
