Recommended Print Parameters (general values for PLA Matte)
Specific profiles for Bambu Lab printers are stored in the RFID on original spools. For the refill variant, the pre-set PLA Matte profile in Bambu Studio / Bambu Handy can be used.
- Nozzle temperature: approx. 190–230 °C (usual start 205–215 °C)
- Bed temperature: approx. 35–45 °C
- Print speed: normally 50–150 mm/s, significantly higher speeds possible on Bambu Lab printers
- Cooling: high up to 100 % after first layers
Bed and Adhesion
PLA Matte adheres well to most common print surfaces:
- PEI smooth / textured
- Bambu smooth, high-temperature, and textured steel plate
- glass (recommended use of suitable glue or separation layer)
For reliable adhesion of larger objects, a thin layer of glue is recommended (e.g., glue stick or dedicated 3D printing adhesive) and active cooling should be turned on from the 2nd–3rd layer.
Handling and Storage
- Keep the filament dry – preferably in a resealable bag or box with silica gel.
- With long-term exposure to moisture, PLA can absorb water, which manifests in surface quality and extrusion consistency.
- In case of suspected dampness, the filament can be dried (e.g., in a filament dryer at a temperature around 50–55 °C for several hours).
