Bambu Lab PLA Aero White 1kg – extremely lightweight self-foaming PLA filament

Bambu Lab PLA Aero White is a premium, self-foaming PLA filament designed specifically for ultra-light and strong parts. During printing at higher temperatures, controlled foaming of the material occurs, creating internal micro-voids. Thanks to this, it is possible to achieve significantly lower density (approx. 50–80 % compared to regular PLA) without significantly reducing the strength of the print.

This material is the ideal choice for RC model aircraft, UAVs/drones, gliders, aerodynamic prototypes and all structures where the combination of low weight and sufficient strength is key.

Printing recommendations (indicative)

Due to the self-foaming nature of the material, Bambu PLA Aero requires more careful parameter settings and dry filament.

Recommended settings (according to manufacturer's technical data sheet and Bambu Lab profiles):

  • Nozzle temperature: approx. 210–260 °C (higher temperatures increase foaming and decrease density)
  • Bed temperature: approx. 35–45 °C
  • Recommended printing speed: up to around 180 mm/s (considering model quality)
  • Cooling: standard for PLA, for thin walls can be reduced for better cohesion
  • Drying before printing: recommended – PLA Aero is more sensitive to moisture, wet filament can foam uncontrollably and worsen surface quality

For the best results, we recommend using the official Bambu PLA Aero profile in Bambu Studio / Bambu Lab slicer and then fine-tuning the settings according to your specific printer and model.
