Product description

Bambu Lab PETG HF Lake Blue 1 kg

Bambu Lab PETG HF (High Flow) is a specially developed PETG filament for high-speed 3D printing. In combination with Bambu Lab printers (X1, P1, A1 series), it allows printing up to twice as fast as standard PETG, while maintaining high surface quality and detail. The Lake Blue color variant corresponds to hex code #1F79E5 and provides a beautiful, deep blue in a matte finish.

Main Advantages

  • Designed for fast printing – recommended speeds up to ~300 mm/s, with a factory preset around 258 mm/s.
  • High Flow composition – optimized material flow for fast layers without significant stringing and blobs.
  • Matte, smooth surface – suppresses uneven gloss during speed changes, resulting in a uniform appearance.
  • Higher resistance than PLAgreater toughness and temperature resistance (HDT approx. 69 °C), suitable for functional and mechanically stressed parts.
  • Outdoor use – PETG HF has good resistance to water and UV radiation, suitable for flower pots, garden parts, bike holders, car interior and exterior parts, etc.
  • Minimal tuning – the profile is available in Bambu Studio as a preset material, just load via AMS and print.
  • RFID chip – the spool contains an RFID that Bambu AMS reads and automatically sets the correct filament profile.

Recommended Use

This filament is a great choice for:

  • fast printing of functional prototypes and mechanical parts,
  • outdoor models (flower pots, bird feeders, bird cages, garden accessories),
  • car parts and technical covers, holders, mounting fixtures,
  • durable toys and elements that must withstand impacts and drops,
  • design objects where you want a combination of a matte surface and a distinctive blue color.

Printing Recommendations

For PETG HF, drying the filament before printing and keeping it dry during long prints is crucial.

Recommended values:

  • Drying: 65 °C for 8 h in a drying oven/filament dryer.
  • Relative humidity during printing: < 20 % RH (in a closed box/AMS with desiccant).
  • Nozzle temperature: 230–260 °C (typically around 245 °C depending on speed and printer).
  • Bed temperature (with glue): 65–75 °C.
  • Recommended printing speed: up to 300 mm/s (depends on model geometry).

For the first layer, it is recommended to slightly reduce the speed for perfect adhesion; the rest of the print can run at high speed thanks to the high‑flow formulation.

Compatibility and Build Plates

  • AMS & AMS lite compatible – the spool and material are designed for trouble-free use in the Bambu AMS system.
  • Recommended print plates:
    • Cool Plate with SuperTack glue,
    • Smooth PEI Plate,
    • Textured PEI Plate.
  • Recommended glue: Bambu Liquid Glue or quality glue stick.

Technical Material Properties

Physical properties:

  • Density: approx. 1,28 g/cm³
  • Vicat softening (Vicat): approx. 70 °C
  • Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT, 0,45 MPa): approx. 69 °C
  • Melting temperature: approx. 214 °C
  • MFI (190 °C/2,16 kg): approx. 28,2 ± 2,7 g/10 min

Mechanical properties (indicative):

  • Tensile strength: approx. 34 ± 4 MPa
  • Elongation at break: approx. 8,6 ± 1,2 %
  • Flexural modulus: approx. 2050 ± 120 MPa
  • Flexural strength: approx. 64 ± 3 MPa
  • Impact strength (XY): approx. 31,5 ± 2,2 kJ/m²

Comparison with other Bambu Lab materials

  • Compared to PLA Basic: higher toughness, better temperature resistance (approx. 69 °C vs. 57 °C), more suitable for functional and outdoor parts.
  • Compared to PETG Basic: similar temperature and chemical resistance, but significantly higher possible printing speed thanks to the high‑flow formulation and optimized profile.

Why choose PETG HF Lake Blue

  • You need a reliable functional PETG filament directly tuned for Bambu Lab printers.
  • You want to print both large and small parts quickly, without tedious parameter tuning.
  • You prefer a matte, professional-looking surface and a distinctive blue color.

If you are looking for a filament for everyday functional parts that must withstand heat, UV, and mechanical stress, Bambu Lab PETG HF Lake Blue is a very strong candidate for your projects.

Key Features:

  • High Flow PETG filament optimized for high-speed printing up to ~300 mm/s
  • Matte, smooth surface with a consistent appearance in Lake Blue (#1F79E5)
  • Higher toughness and temperature resistance than PLA – suitable for functional and outdoor parts
  • Significantly better stringing and blob control than standard PETG
