Bambu Lab ASA Aero White is a premium self-foaming ASA filament designed for users who need extremely lightweight and simultaneously very durable parts. Thanks to a special temperature-activated foam structure, you can control the density of the model by changing the printing temperature and flow rate, making it easy to achieve "feather-light" prints without compromising strength.

Key Features

• Self-foaming material – ultra-low density When increasing the printing temperature or decreasing the flow rate, the filament foams and the volume increases, which reduces the print density down to approx. 50–75% of regular ASA. This is ideal for RC aircraft, UAVs, drones, large volume models, or any weight-sensitive projects.
• High toughness and strength Compared to other foaming materials, ASA Aero has higher impact toughness and better layer adhesion, so parts better withstand impacts, collisions, and falls. It is suitable for mechanically stressed parts, covers, and functional prototypes.
• UV, water, and weather resistance As an ASA material, ASA Aero offers significantly higher resistance to UV radiation, temperature, and water than PLA or PLA Aero. This makes it ideal for long-term outdoor use, e.g., parts for garden equipment, outdoor gear, or exterior mounts and covers.
• Matte surface suitable for further processing The filament creates a fine matte surface that sands, paints, and lacquers very well. This is great for models that you will further surface finish – for example, RC models or design objects.
• High-temperature reusable spool The filament is supplied on a robust high-temperature reusable spool by Bambu Lab, which is suitable for printing in enclosed printers and works well with the Bambu AMS system.

Printing Recommendations

• Printer: an enclosed FDM printer is recommended due to stable temperature and minimization of warping.
• Dry filament: ASA Aero needs to be thoroughly dried before printing to prevent bubbles, inconsistent extrusion, and layer errors.
• Profile in Bambu Studio: use the official Bambu ASA Aero profile – it contains recommended temperatures and flow rates to achieve the correct foaming rate and surface quality.

Compatibility

• AMS compatible: the filament is fully compatible with the Bambu Lab AMS system for automatic material swapping.

• Recommended build plates: smooth or textured PEI plate with a suitable adhesive agent; the special "cool plate" for PLA is not recommended.
